LANSING, Mich. – State Rep. Steve Frisbie today announced that the City of Albion will receive $32,000 to purchase body cameras for police officers. The funding will equip officers with modern recording devices to enhance transparency, protect law enforcement and safeguard the public.
“Body cameras provide valuable documentation and help build trust between law enforcement and the community,” Frisbie said. “This grant will ensure Albion’s officers have the tools they need to do their jobs safely and responsibly.”
The grant will also cover secure data storage and training for officers. The new cameras are expected to be in use later this year.
The House Budget containing these vital appropriations will now be sent to the Senate for passage. Residents with questions or seeking more information are encouraged to contact Rep. Frisbie’s office.
